Owen Smigelski, Intellectual Property Attorney

Owen is senior counsel, intellectual property, with Sunrider International. As in-house counsel, Owen can no longer represent clients outside of his company. Owen originally created this website as a resource to inventors and entrepreneurs for intellectual property.

Owen's passion in law is trademarks and the Internet. It was a love of trademark law that drove Owen to become a lawyer. As a member of INTA (International Trademark Association), he has trademark contacts around the world to assist filing trademark applications in not only the United States but also around the world. Owen has experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting trademark applications before the USPTO, including trademark oppositions.

Owen is experienced in all things computers and Internet. Since 1993, Owen has been a systems administrator for Internet and network servers. Although a full-time lawyer, he has consulted with with various startup ventures, including Bandwidthsavings.com, Exelsites.com, and PatientsPride.com. Owen built and maintains the servers for these ventures. Additionally he has computer programming experience.

Owen is fluent French, and is knowledgeable in Spanish and German. Originally from upstate New York, Owen moved to California in 1998. Owen has been with Sunrider since June 2007.
